You can download a spreadsheet of your student account details at any time — including usernames and passwords for accounts created without email addresses. This is useful for sharing login details with students, or for keeping a record of your class lists.
Downloading details for all classes
Step 1: Go to the Classes page
Select Classes from the user menu (where you see your name in the header bar).
Step 2: Download the spreadsheet
Click Download all at the top right of the Classes page to download an Excel spreadsheet containing the account details for all your classes.
The file will download to your computer. You can find it quickly via your browser's download bar or in your Downloads folder.
Downloading details for a single class
If you only need the details for one class:
Step 1: Go to the Classes page
Select Classes from the user menu (where you see your name in the header bar).
Step 2: Open the class
Find your class in the list and click Open class.
Step 3: Download the spreadsheet
Click the Download button from the class page to download the account details for that class only.
What the spreadsheet contains
The downloaded file includes the following columns for each student: Surname, Firstname, Class, Yeargroup, Email/Username, and Password.
- Students without an email address — their Dr Frost username (e.g. ebennet-223407) will appear in the Email/Username column, and their current password will appear in the Password column.
- Students with an email address — their email address will appear in the Email/Username column. Their password will show as [Private] because these students manage their own password. They can reset it themselves via email, or you can set a temporary password for them. See: How do I reset a student's login?
Note: If you use this file as the basis for a spreadsheet import, be aware that the Password column will be ignored by the importer. For more information about importing students using a spreadsheet, see: How do I import students using a spreadsheet?
