This article explains how students access their Dr Frost Maths accounts, whatever method was used to create them.
If your school uses MIS sync: student accounts are always created with an email address. Students can log in using SSO or via the activation email they receive when their account is created.
How students access their accounts
Depending on how their account was set up, students can log in using one of the following methods:
Single Sign-On (SSO) with Google or Microsoft
Students go to the Dr Frost Maths login page and sign in using their school Google or Microsoft account. As long as the email address matches the one on their Dr Frost account, they'll be recognised automatically. No password or activation email is needed.
Email link
If their account was set up using the "Send an email with a link" option, they'll receive an email with a secure link to set up their login method.
Temporary password
If their account was set up with a temporary password, they'll need the username or email address and the temporary password provided by their teacher. After logging in they'll be prompted to set up their own login method.
Username and password
Students whose accounts were created without an email address will have a username and password generated for them by Dr Frost. Their teacher will have shared these details with them.
Using SSO for student login
We strongly recommend students use Google or Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO) rather than a password. Here's why it matters:
- Students log in with credentials they already know and use every day
- No forgotten passwords means far fewer login support requests for you
- Works even if activation emails are blocked by your school's network
You have two options for enabling SSO:
Mandate it at school level (recommended) - you can configure Dr Frost so that all students must use SSO to log in, removing the password option entirely. See our guide: How do we enable mandatory SSO for our school?
Let students choose - if SSO isn't mandated, students can still choose to link their Google or Microsoft account themselves from the login screen at any time.
