You can update a class name, year group, assigned teachers, and assigned courses at any time from within the class view.
If your school uses MIS sync: the details of your synced classes are managed through your MIS and cannot be edited in Dr Frost. To change the class name, year group, or assigned teacher for a synced class, make the change in your MIS and it will update on the next sync. The steps below apply to Additional classes and to classes at non-MIS schools. For all school types, courses can be assigned or changed in Dr Frost regardless of sync status.
Step 1: Open the class
Select Classes from the user menu, then click Open class next to the class you want to edit.
Step 2: Click the relevant edit icon
At the top of the class view you'll see the class name, teachers, and courses. Click the pencil icon next to whichever you want to update.
Editing the class name or year group
Click the pencil icon next to the class name to open the Edit class modal. You can update the class name and year group here. Click Save to confirm your changes.
Note: The class name is visible to students and must be unique within your school.
Assigning or changing teachers
Click the pencil icon next to Teachers to open the teacher selection modal. Select one or more teachers from the dropdown list of colleagues at your school. Click Save to confirm.
Assigned teachers will see the class when filtering by My classes.
Note: You can only assign teachers who already have a Dr Frost account at your school. If a colleague isn't listed, you'll need to invite them first. See How do I add or invite teachers to our school account?
Removing a teacher from a class
To remove a teacher, open the teacher selection modal and deselect their name, then click Save.
Assigning or changing courses
Click the pencil icon next to Courses to open the course selection modal. Select one or more courses from the dropdown, then click Save.
Note: If there are no courses attached to your school you can choose or create one from the Manage Courses page.
