A class join link is a quick way to invite students to an existing class — share it via email, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, or write it on the board. Students click the link and are added to your class automatically.

Before you share your link: what students see when they click it depends on whether your school uses MIS sync. Jump to: What students will see
Step 1: Go to the Classes page
Select Classes from the user menu (where you see your name in the header bar).
Step 2: Open your class
Find your class in the Classes list and click Open class.
Step 3: Click "Join link"
Click the Class join link button above the list of students in the class view.
Step 4: Enable the class join link
Class join links are disabled by default. Toggle the link from disabled to enabled to generate your link.
Note: If you turn the link off and back on again, a new link will be generated. The previous link will no longer work, so any students who haven't yet joined will need the new link.
Step 5: Copy or share the link
You can either:
- Copy the link to share via email, Teams, or any other method
- Share directly to Google Classroom
What students will see
What happens when a student clicks your join link depends on whether your school uses MIS sync.
If your school uses MIS sync
Students will see a message confirming the class they're joining and be asked to enter their school email address. They must already have a Dr Frost Maths account linked to your school — the join link cannot be used to create a new account at a school that uses MIS sync.
If a student clicks the link but doesn't have an account yet, they'll need to be added through your MIS sync first.
If your school does not use MIS sync
Students will be taken to a page asking for their school email address. From there:
- If they already have a Dr Frost Maths account, they'll be prompted to log in and added to your class automatically
- If they don't have an account yet, they'll be able to create one and will be added to your class once creation is complete
Managing your join link
Once all your students have joined, disable the link to prevent unauthorised access — return to the Join link screen and toggle it back to disabled.
If you need to reopen the link later, you can re-enable it. Note that this generates a new link — you'll need to share the new link with any students who still need to join.
Need help?
If students are having trouble joining via the link:
- Check the link is currently enabled — it's easy to forget to turn it back on after disabling it
- If your school is using MIS sync, make sure the students already have a Dr Frost Maths account before using the join link
- Check with your IT team that your school's email or network settings aren't blocking the Dr Frost Maths domain
