This article is for schools that currently have a legacy Wonde sync set up with Dr Frost. If your school hasn't previously connected Wonde, this doesn't apply to you — though if you'd like to set it up for the first time, you can find instructions in our Wonde integration setup guide.
We've recently improved our Wonde integration so that your classes and student data can sync automatically with your MIS every day, without needing to manually trigger updates. This article explains what to check and consider before you complete the new setup.
Before you start — is this the right time?
The new sync will update classes and student data across your whole school, not just your own personal classes. Before anyone goes ahead with the setup, it's worth making sure your department is aligned on:
- When the sync will be enabled
- Whether any students need to be notified about changes to their login details beforehand
We'd recommend treating this as a coordinated department decision.
Check your class lists first
For most students, the sync will simply keep their account aligned with the school email address recorded in your MIS — no disruption to their login details.
The one thing worth checking beforehand is whether any students are currently logging in with a username (for example, fname-1234) rather than their school email address. You can do this by reviewing your Dr Frost class lists before you begin.
If you find students logging in this way:
- Those accounts will be flagged during the sync rather than updated automatically
- We won't make any changes to those accounts without your confirmation
- Contact our team and we'll talk through the best approach before you proceed
