Copying and adapting a course allows you to customise any course on Dr Frost for your school. We've included the required topics from the specification but we know schools may teach the content in a different order or include prerequisite skills as needed for their settings. Adapting the course gives you a starting point, saving you the time of setting up the course from scratch, while still giving you the autonomy to make the course your own.
To copy and adapt a course, open the course and press the button to copy and adapt.
This will create a copy of the course and open the editor.
To change any of the titles of any module or the course itself, just click on the box with the title in it. To add a unit to a module, just press the add unit button. To delete a module, use the bin button.
To add a new module, use the button at the end of the course.
To edit unit inside of a module, click the title of the unit you want to edit.
Once you open the unit, you'll see the other units in that module on the left hand side. You can use this to switch between each unit in the module and make edits as needed.
You can add any existing resources to your module that you would like to be visible in the course for students. For example, a worksheet you've made to go with this topic for students to practise or a set of Dr Frost slides for them to reference.
You can also add any additional skills that you'd like to include in the course using the add skill function.
You can exclude any sub-skills that are included in the course by using the toggle next to each sub-skill.
If you want to come back to this course, you can find it in the list of drafts on your manage courses page. From there, you can continue editing the course or publish it once it's ready.
